Chris Clapper, on behalf of the Chamber, presented a check to Brian and the Rotary Club for $3,018 for working at Ribfest this year. Another check was presented to Open Arms Free Clinic. Ted Johnson announced that he will be organizing another NFL Football Pool and shared instructions on how to sign up, cost is $20.
Brian Iwicki announced that the Rotary Board approved a No Meals Membership that will start for the next quarter, October 1st. You can be a Rotary member and not purchase the meals. He also announced that we will participate in the End Polio Day at Culver’s Restaurant on Thursday, October 24. Bill Campbell volunteered to organize workers for this event.
Mary Kaminski, from the Beloit Rotary addressed the group to tell us about their 100 year anniversary. Their club started in 1919 and they have a building in Beloit that they own and maintain. They use it for meetings on Tuesdays and other events are held there, it can be rented from the city. We are invited to their 100 Anniversary Dinner & Program on September 10. The speaker for their program will be Ed Futa who is very entertaining. Please register by August 30 if you plan to attend.
Joe Savignac was at our meeting to thank us and tell us he will be leaving next week for a year in Spain. Our club is sponsoring him as an exchange student from the Mukwonago School District.
