Rotary Program Summary 11/14/18:

Topic: The Rotary Foundation

Rotarian member, John Henderson, shared information on the Rotary Foundation.  For over 100 years, more than $3,000,000,000 has been spent by the Rotary Foundation to change the world.  Fighting Polio, providing aid to disabled children, funding scholarships for international study, training international peacemakers, and establishing group study exchanges are just a few ways the club has

Rotary Foundation goal was to have $300,000,000 in donations just last year.  The Elkhorn Club in the last 50 years has donate over $300,000 to the international foundation.  When donating to Rotary International, if you donate to the annual fund, then 50% of that contribution comes back to the local district.

If over time, you give over $1,000 you become a Paul Harris Fellow.  At the present time we have close to 30 Paul Harris Fellows from our organization.  John is willing to match our donations, to bring every member to the Paul Harris level.  He asked each member to consider contributing what they could - perhaps $100 or more. There are many ways to establish that contribution, so please refer to the Rotary Direct form that John handed out. You will need your Rotarian number that is on your form if you decide to donate online.  Once you send in your donation, John will receive the information from The Rotary Foundation. There are also many ways, in addition to financial contributions, that you can become involved. Please see John if you are interested in traveling and working on projects that are sponsored by the Rotary Foundation.
