Brave Rotarians armed with umbrellas, ponchos, and big smiles snagged another last-minute parking lot gig at the Walworth County Fairgrounds Antique Fair on Sunday, August 11 to raise $$$ for the club. They managed to collect $1,040 in just three hours for our community service projects before the downpour forced them back home. Soggy chairs, drippy signs, and happy hearts spent the rest of the day at home drying out.
A HUGE thanks to Heidi, Katie, Kathie, Bill, Deb Tillman, and new member applicant Elisabeth Partyka with her husband, Ken, for running between the raindrops for us!

The Racine Founders Club Mission to Support Belize
Racine Rotarians Steen Sanderhoff and Loretta Baxter spoke at the Wednesday, August 6, 2025 meeting to share their club's ongoing efforts in Punta Gorda, Belize. Sara Nichols traveled with them in 2024 to take needed medical supplies, and Brian Holt in 2022. We got to hear details of their recently delivered fire truck by the US Air Force with financial support from our club too!
The Founders Club is hoping to once again partner with Elkhorn on a weeklong February 2026 trip to address continuing healthcare and literacy needs in Punta Gorda. Are you interested in participating or contributing to this life-changing work? They are able to take two volunteers this time and need $$$ to purchase a hospital sterilizing machine. Speak to Katie ASAP for details.

Jeff Halpin told his story during this month's Rotary Member Intro: The Lake Geneva native shared it was his marriage to a beautiful Greek woman named Maria in 1992 that convinced him to swap his Carthage College art history degree for a chef's knife when they purchased Annie's Burger Town in 1992. Four kids and a lifetime of memories later, we can't imagine our club without the longtime sports fan, past Boy Scout leader, and community supporter!
We Still Need 6 Volunteers for the August 23 WalCo Habitat for Humanity Team Build
The Rotary Club of Elkhorn is answering the call for volunteers to assist the Habitat for Humanity in Walworth County! We're halfway there! We could use six more volunteers to help with the Pell Lake Home Build 9-4:00pm on August 23, 2025.
No construction experience is necessary - Just a caring heart and willingness to work! Spouses and families 16+ are welcome, and boxed lunches will be provided by the Club. We're about 2/3 full of volunteers! Rotary raises almost $4,000 each year by parking cars near the Walworth County Fairgrounds from August 27-September 1, 2025! Sign-ups to volunteer for two-hour shifts at the Elkhorn Teen Center parking lot is now open. It's an easy and fun way to spend time outdoors helping out our club!
