We had many guests today and AC introduced her host family members that were in attendance. The Rotary 50th Anniversary Food Truck Fest and Gala were a great success last weekend. Bill Campbell was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow and thanked John Henderson. Amanda Kostman has new Rotary shirts, cost is $10.
Our speaker was our Rotary Exchange Student, AC. She gave a presentation on her fabulous year in Elkhorn. Her goals before she left Denmark were to learn the English language better, learn more about American culture and find the American dream! One of her first trips last year was a weekend in Green Lake to meet other exchange students. She had a great year at Elkhorn High School and participated in cheerleading, gymnastics and soccer. She liked choosing her classes and the school spirit in Elkhorn. Her first host family was the Rosendahls. They went to the Walworth County Fair, a corn maze and celebrated Thanksgiving with them in Kansas City. They liked to play board games together. Her second family was the Greens. She celebrated Christmas with them and the different traditions, gained a little sister and traveled to North Carolina and Florida. Lastly, her third family was the Wheelers. She was with them for Spring Break and they traveled to Orlando and Disney World. All three families were very welcoming and she greatly enjoyed her time with them and in small town Elkhorn.
