WEEKLY MEETING RECAP:  Pivoting to Engage the Next Workforce Generation

On Wednesday, February 4, 2026, Reader Precision Solutions (RPS) staffers Amanda Griffoul and Barry Butters shared their strategy to engage and retain their Millennial and Gen Z workforce. RPS has 125 employees and has hosted almost 100 Youth Apprenticeships since they began the program in 2013. They cite this, along with early exposure at school career fairs and scholarships, as critical to gain exposure with young people and create interest in CNC careers.

The pair said the newest generation is looking for future career development support, the flexibility to independently problem solve, leadership opportunities, group activities outside of work, flexible schedules, and transparent pay. She recommended businesses adopt a department rotation for interns (and maybe new hires) for greater understanding of company opportunities as well. The challenges of blending generational work styles and shared training were discussed as well.

Peace and Conflict Resolution: Rotary's Commitment in February

February is dedicated to Peace and Conflict Resolution in Rotary.

As an international organization, Rotary believes that peace is not just the absence of war but the presence of justice, understanding, and opportunity.

Through its global network, Rotary actively works to prevent conflicts by promoting dialogue, supporting education, and addressing the root causes of violence—such as poverty and inequality.

Rotary’s Peace Centers train leaders to become effective mediators and changemakers in their communities.

At the local level, clubs engage in projects that foster social cohesion, provide humanitarian aid in crisis zones, and support refugees.

By building bridges between cultures and communities, Rotarians contribute to a more harmonious world.

This month, let us reflect on our role in promoting peace and finding solutions to conflicts.

Every action, no matter how small, can make a difference in creating a more peaceful future.
