Serving because we care and because we can!

Rotary Notes 12/11/2019

Program – Club Assembly (Impromptu)

Monetary donations to the bucket today will be going to the Food Pantry. Thanks to all who brought in food donations as well. Carmen, our exchange student told us about her recent trip to Chicago. School is going well and she hopes to start volleyball soon. John Henderson mentioned that one more host family is needed for Carmen in the spring.
The Rotary Christmas Party will be held at the Chamber this year on January 3. Invitations and sign up sheet will go out soon. Tim Brellenthin mentioned we need a driver to deliver Meals on Wheels on January 6.
Next week the high school choir will be here to perform for us. Then we will be off the following two Wednesdays because of the holidays. Jason Tadlock informed us the school will have a referendum to purchase the St. Patrick’s building on Sunset Drive where they have the charter school, Options. Check the district Facebook page for more information and he will do a presentation to Rotary in the future to give us more details.
Bob talked about our Rotary club doing more water projects in the future. Rotary International has partnered with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to support lasting, positive change in water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). We can look at WASH for ideas. Bill said that our Habitat for Humanity project in Pell Lake will start in the spring. They did not break ground yet.
