Breakfast Meeting Success!
On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, we held our very first breakfast meeting at the Matheson Memorial Library Community Room. 16 members attended to enjoy Jeff's delicious eggs, bacon, assorted pastries, fruit, coffee and juice spread. We also got to see a few familiar faces we haven't seen in a while! Let the experiment continue: We will continue morning meetings on the third Wednesday of July and August.
Nikki's Wishing Well Flower Shop owner Nicole Kolp was on hand to share about her first year as a downtown Elkhorn business, the transition in ownership from Jerry, and how she is making her mark to support the community's floral needs. Nikki has been arranging flowers since she was 16 and most enjoys her walk-in customers, which account for about 30% of her overall business. Most of her product comes from a distributor to ensure freshness and consistency, with materials from Ecuador, Canada, and California. She shared her three biggest holidays are Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, and Admin Professionals Day. She gave Rotarians coupons and encouraged us to stop by the shop to say hello!

Ted said the Elkhorn Rotary Booster Club Golf Outing signups are going well. The date is set for Friday, July 31, 2026. He is still looking for 5-6 more hole sponsors; please contact him if you are able to golf or sponsor a hole for the event, which funds our club's three scholarships for EAHS seniors.
RibFest Volunteer Sign-Ups Are Now Open!
Come help the club fundraise by bartending at one of Elkhorn's biggest festivals of the year. The club gets paid for each person who can help out. Volunteers should wear their Rotary swag (see Katie if you need a shirt, hat, etc.) and arrive at the assigned area about 10 minutes before your shift. Must be able to stand on grass for the entire shift and serve drinks.
This year, we have an additional shift too: Running the main stage bar during one of the wild concert nights too! Tips galore!!! For this special shift, we are looking for energetic folks who can lift 25lbs., rush around in a fast-past environment, and tolerate LOUD music and a late night.
The Taipei Convention Ends on High Note and Call to Action
The Rotary International Convention in Taipei, Taiwan, ended on a high note as singer Leona Lewis brought thousands of attendees to their feet with a stirring performance that included the resilience anthem “Fire Under My Feet” during the closing ceremony on 17 June.
Taipei’s warm hospitality was on full display as hundreds of Rotary volunteers formed a human corridor outside the venue, greeting departing attendees with cheers and celebratory gestures.
Many people stopped to take selfies and exchange farewells before heading home.
The four-day event attracted more than 38,000 people from 140 countries and regions, making it one of Rotary’s largest conventions in recent years.
“This year, I spoke often about uniting for good,” said Rotary International President Francesco Arezzo, a member of the Rotary Club of Ragusa, Italy.
“These past days, we have seen what that means. Rotary is a meeting place — where strangers become friends, friendship becomes trust, where trust becomes action.”
