He was born in New Mexico but his mother was born in Williams Bay. He enlisted in the Army in 1999 and was a Military Police Officer. He spent time in Europe and Afghanistan and was hit by a suicide bomber in September 2005 and spent the next 2 years in recovery. Mark used painting and drawing to aid his recovery. In 2007 he was medically retired. He then went back to school at George Williams College for recreational therapy, a graduate program. Mark now works for a rehab program and does a lot of artwork, paintings, drawings, etc. He creates artwork for selling, gifts and his own rehab. Mark was able to bring some of his work and drawings and talk about his process of creation.
