John Henderson presented the program: "Five Weeks of India in Twenty-five Minutes"
John summarized his trip in two parts: Northern India from Delhi to Jaipur and Southern India from Madras to Cochin.
Faith and culture in India is 70% Hindu, 20% Muslim and 5% Christian. Old Delhi was primitive by today’s standards but had much of what might be expected: Snake charmers, Custom clothiers and lots of rickshaws. Rickshaws can ride no smoother than the surface that they are on and they can be loaded with amazing amounts of cargo. Nabu Rah Nature Park is one of India's large National Parks. Tigers are solitary and not commonly seen in daylight but John and Jean did get one to pose. Blue deer are an unusual species seen there.
The Agra area has sights as diverse as the Taj Mahal, MacDonald’s featuring the “Maharaja Mac" and the Church of St. Thomas (no doubt).
Southern India may be more beautiful, agricultural and free spirited (although arranged marriages are common among Hindu, Muslim and even Christians as traditional Indian culture). Crops vary from coffee to silk worms and sugar cane.
John credits Overseas Adventure Travel with arranging high quality tours.
